guile-1.8-libs software package provides Core Guile libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install guile-1.8-libs
guile-1.8-libs is installed in your system.
Make ensure the guile-1.8-libs package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep guile-1.8-libs *
You will get with guile-1.8-libs package name, version, architecture and description in a table
